September 1983, Board of Trustees for Founders of Doctors’ Hospital
A Legacy of
Community Medicine
Founders of Doctors' Hospital, Inc. (FDH) traces its roots to the origination of Doctors' Hospital. Doctors' Hospital opened August 29, 1966 to benefit family physicians by providing total family health care. After selling the hospital in 1983, the Board established Founders of Doctors' Hospital with the assets of the sale. Our mission is to support qualified charities in the Tulsa area community, with a primary focus on the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the OU School of Community Medicine.
In addition to annual dedicated funding to OU-Tulsa, FDH has supported Endowed Chairs, Lectureships, Tulsa Campus Capital Campaigns for the Student Union and Founders' Hall, as well as the anticipated Stephenson Cancer Center.
To date, over 300 Secondary Charities have benefited from millions in grants awarded directly into the Tulsa community.
